In an exclusive interview with Edu Aguirre on El Chiringuito TV, CR7 revealed the little-known secrets behind this regrettable farewell.
Ronaldo insists that leaving Real Madrid was not a rash decision. He shared: “I left Real Madrid because I wanted to have another stage in my life. My departure did not tire me, because I told president Florentino Perez and he accepted my departure. But during the negotiation period, Florentino did not treat me well.”
Despite Perez’s last-minute attempts to hold on, Ronaldo was determined to leave in search of a new challenge. He said: “I wanted to start a new chapter. I told Florentino and he accepted, but then he tried to hold on, but I had no way back because at that time I had promised Juventus.”
Despite leaving Real Madrid, Ronaldo still has special feelings for the team and Spain. He confided: “Spain is my homeland, my children grew up there, I have friends, and I played for Real Madrid. Real Madrid will always be in my heart. It’s where I feel happiest.”
The relationship between Ronaldo and president Florentino Perez has always been a controversial topic. CR7 admitted: “I always appreciate and respect Florentino, I still talk to him from time to time and I do not rule out the possibility of returning to Real Madrid one day when my career ends.”
Ronaldo insists he has no regrets about leaving Real Madrid. He won two more Serie A titles with Juventus, before returning to Manchester United and now playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. At 39, CR7 is continuing to write new pages in his illustrious career.
