Ronaldo criticized as ‘shameful’ after making sensational statement

Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has just caused a stir in the football world with his statement: “I don’t see anyone better than me in the history of football. I’m speaking the truth and from my heart.”

Carragher expressed his opinion about CR7: “What he shared was shameful. For a player of Ronaldo’s age, arranging interviews to talk about other tournaments, about coaches, players, shows signs of insecurity.”

Former midfielder Javier Mascherano, now coach of Inter Miami, also spoke out against Ronaldo: “Ronaldo claims to be the best player in history? I respect Ronaldo and need to analyze his opinion again. If Ronaldo thinks so, that’s fine. But my point of view is completely different from what Ronaldo said.”

On the other hand, coach Ancelotti agreed with Ronaldo’s statement. The Real Madrid captain said that his former student has scored many goals and maintained his form for a long time. Up to now, at the age of 40, Ronaldo still scores regularly every week.

Ronaldo is still scoring consistently at the age of 40.

The vote for the greatest player in history has created endless controversy. Coach Jose Mourinho once affirmed that it was not Messi or CR7, but “fat” Ronaldo who was the greatest. Meanwhile, some people named Pele, Maradona or Johan Cruyff.

In recent years, the debate about the greatest player in history has been limited to Ronaldo and Messi. More than once, Ronaldo has claimed that he is better than everyone because of his comprehensiveness and perseverance. In his latest interview, CR7 mentioned Messi, Maradona and Pele, to affirm that he is more comprehensive than everyone.

The race between Ronaldo and Messi lasted from 2006 until both of them left top-flight football in Europe. Up to now, both Ronaldo and Messi have had special achievements that bear their personal mark.

Messi won 8 Golden Balls, collected all the titles at club and national team level, including the prestigious World Cup trophy. Ronaldo won 5 Golden Balls, only missing the World Cup title.

At the age of 40, Ronaldo still scores regularly for Al Nassr. CR7 holds the scoring record at club level (923 goals) and national team (135 goals). Meanwhile, Messi at Inter Miami has declined due to frequent injuries.
