Messi is in the Top 5 best strikers in history.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, Inter Miami star Luis Suarez has voted for his top five greatest strikers in his personal opinion.

Notably, the Uruguayan star’s list does not include superstar C. Ronaldo. This is controversial, because Cr7 has scored a total of 926 goals in his career – more than any other striker in contemporary football, and has won the Golden Ball award 5 times.

5. Romario

“Fifth place is Romario. His finishing is really great,” said star midfielder Suarez.

According to the Uruguayan striker’s analysis, the former Brazilian star is the king of the penalty area. The striker has the ability to turn in a narrow area and shoot very accurately. In his career, Romario has scored more than 700 goals, including 39 goals in 65 matches for Barca.

4. Ronaldo Nazario de Lima

“Next is Ronaldo – the Brazilian ‘Fat Ronaldo’. He is extremely agile, has tremendous speed. An intelligent player, a really excellent striker”, Suarez shared.

Ronaldo Nazario de Lima is considered one of the greatest players in the world despite constantly being friends with persistent injuries. The owner of 2 Golden Balls scored 371 goals in 580 matches in his career, achieving an efficiency of 123 minutes/goal.

3. Diego Forlan

“For me, he is one of the best strikers. I played with him. A complete striker, always playing for the team. He can finish from any position, he is really excellent,” Suarez said about his compatriot.

Forlan shone brightly in La Liga for Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, and is also a legend for Uruguay.

At the 2010 World Cup, Forlan won a series of individual awards: the Golden Ball (Best Player of the Tournament), joint Top Scorer and Best Goal of the Tournament with a long-range shot against the Netherlands. A year later, he continued to contribute greatly to helping Uruguay win the 2011 Copa America.

2. Gabriel Batistuta

“Second place is Batistuta. He was my idol when I was young. A real number 9, good at free kicks, and I really like his strong personality,” Suarez revealed.

The Argentine legend had his peak years at Fiorentina, where he scored 204 goals in 331 matches.

1. Lionel Messi

“For me, number one is Messi. He is the best player in history. Messi is also a great person, who welcomed me very warmly when I arrived at Barcelona,” Suarez told Onda Cero in 2017.

It must be emphasized that Suarez and Messi have played 285 matches together and together created 113 goals. Therefore, this player’s vote may be somewhat emotional.

Because for over a decade, people have always argued about who is better between Messi and Ronaldo. Although Suarez is close to and respects Messi, the fact that he left Cr7 out of the Top 5 still surprised many people.
