Messi speaks out after Argentina’s victory over Brazil.

The match between Argentina and Brazil on March 26 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers ended with a convincing 4-1 victory for Lionel Messi’s team. However, this match was not only notable for the result but also for Raphinha’s challenging words before the match, which Messi could not help but respond to.

Before the match, Raphinha had a conversation with Brazilian football legend Romario, in which he expressed his overconfidence in his team’s victory. Raphinha even said: “We will crush them, for sure.”

However, when entering the match, Raphinha and his teammates failed to make a strong statement. Argentina completely dominated and scored 4 goals against their arch-rivals. After the match, Messi shared on Instagram: “I will follow Argentina anywhere. We only talk about our own football. Congratulations on the great match yesterday and the victory against Uruguay”.

Not only Messi, the Argentine players also expressed their joy after this victory. Throughout the match, Argentine fans and players continuously criticized Raphinha, even Fernandez expressed anger at the Barcelona winger, saying that he “talks too much.”

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez did not miss the opportunity either, as he kept the ball longer after the match ended, as a way to rub salt into Brazil’s wounds.

With this victory, Argentina continues to lead the South American qualifying group and has secured a place in the World Cup. Meanwhile, Brazil is in fourth place but still has a lot of work to do to win a ticket to the world football festival.
