Despite becoming Basketball royalty, LeBron James and Savannah James’ most significant titles are father and mother.
LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., 18, Bryce Maximus, 15, and Zhuri Nova, 8, are the couple’s three kids. Zhuri was born a little more than a year after the couple’s wedding in 2013, and Bronny and Bryce were both born before that.
Social media posts for Bronny and Bryce make it apparent that they both intend to play basketball like their father. LeBron stated to The Athletic in February 2022 that he intends to play basketball with his oldest son during his final season in the NBA. He stated: “My son and I will play out my final year. I’ll be where Bronny is, wherever that may be.”
In a 2022 Sports Illustrated article, LeBron had a similar viewpoint, saying, “I throw it out there because I like to consult the basketball gods and see if anything happens. I’ve always talked to the basketball gods about my professional aspirations, and they have always listened. Perhaps they will be able to hear this one as well.” Together with their father, Bronny and Bryce appeared on the front of the article with the slogan “Chosen Sons.” (LeBron was dubbed “The Chosen One” on the famous Sports Illustrated cover from 2002.)
The NBA legend expressed to Access Hollywood in 2021 how much he loves his children, saying, “Together with my boys, my daughter is the finest thing I have ever experienced. Therefore, no matter what I’m doing, everytime she smiles, it makes me happy.” When he travels for the NBA, he has been outspoken about the emotional tσll it takes to be away from his wife and children, telling USA Today, “I am sorely missing my family. My mother, my wife, and my kids. And the list goes on. It’s a very difficult task.”
When James surpassed Magic Johnson as the NBA’s all-time top scorer in February 2023, his wife and kids were watching from the stands. The James clan then hurried to join him in his celebration on the court at Crypto.com Arena. Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri made video messages of congratulations for their father prior to the achievement.
“Greetings, father. proud of the entire body of work you’ve done. I adore you a lot “Braydon stated. Bryce also added: “Congratulations on outscoring Kareem all-time, dad. I’m really pleased with you. I cherish you. Keep going.”

LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., 18
LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., the couple’s first child, was born on October 6, 2004. Basketball was Bronny’s first sport as a child, and he could enter the NBA as early as the 2024–2025 season.
The Los Angeles Lakers player is openly friendly with all of his kids on social media, and in 2020, he posted an Instagram photo of himself cradling a newborn Bronny on his chest to mark Bronny’s milestone 16th birthday. The image’s caption read, “Congrats on turning 16! You are one of a kind, and I have adored every second of your brief but promising life thus far! You are a SPECIAL child—never forget that!”
Bronny himself has achieved great success. In a competitive game played in LeBron’s Ohio hometown of Akron, he led his high school, Sierra Canyon School, to a victory over his father’s alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He was on the Sports Illustrated cover in July 2021 at the age of 16, making him six months younger than his father was for his own cover in 2002.
LeBron has acknowledged that he intends to do “whatever it takes” to play basketball with his eldest kid during his final season as a professional. He said to The Athletic in February 2022, “My son and I will play out my final year. I’ll be where Bronny is, wherever that may be. I would go to any lengths to spend a year playing with my son. At that moment, it is not about the money.”
Bronny turned 18 in October 2022, and his father celebrated the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post. LeBron posted some old pictures of Bronny as a young child, saying in part, “How old is this kid now, you guys? 18 years old? I am unable to handle it. I’m so proud of the man you’ve grown into, little one!”
After Bronny turned 18 and secured an endorsement deal with Nike, LeBron shared a photo and video of himself and his kid playing basketball side by side on Instagram to mark the occasion. The pleased father, a Nike athlete since the beginning of his professional career, captioned the photo on Instagram, “The Tradition Lives On! Well done, Young King!”
On January 11, 2023, Bronny’s parents, siblings, and younger brother Bryce cheered on the young athlete at his high school final night game. The entire family posed for pictures on the court following the game.
Bronny was one of 24 high school students selected for the 46th McDonald’s All American Game later that month. Being selected for the important game is a big honor, but it is more so for Bronny since it allows him to continue the family tradition of his father, who was selected to the team in 2003.
LeBron posted a screenshot of the roster on Instagram to mark his son’s success.
“@bronny, ayyyyyyyeeeee! Salutations, Son! I’m really happy for you! “In the caption, he said. “No matter what, stay true to who you are throughout! You are absolutely AWESOME!”
