In the year 2020, Mahomes popped the question to his long-time love and fitness trainer Brittany.

It was a few minutes after he had received his Super Bowl ring during the special ceremony that took place at Arrowhead Stadium and it was a day after her 25th birthday.

On Instagram, the happy pair shared the news that they are engaged.

They first became romantically involved while they were both students at Whitehouse High School in Texas; Mahomes was a sophomore there, while Matthews was a junior.

This year began with the couple exchanging vows in Hawaii, and they recently announced that they are expecting their second child.

While Mahomes participated in high school football, Matthews was on the soccer team.

After that, she continued her athletic career by playing football at the University of Texas at Tyler before moving to Iceland to pursue a career in soccer.

After Matthews completed her season in Iceland and traveled to Kansas City to be with Mahomes, the couple eventually decided to move in together and make their home there.
