This high-profile entrance tops them all, even when there are plenty of Hollywood celebrities in the stands for Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX.
One of the greatest athletes of all time and the second most followed person on Instagram, Argentine football icon and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi turned up for the big match and looked radiant.
Messi had intended to go to the Super Bowl, but USA TODAY Sports reported Tuesday that he wasn’t sure he would be able to make it because he was playing in an Inter Miami preseason game in Honduras on Saturday night. It appears he has made it, and knowing the World Cup champion is watching will likely make Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes very happy.
“Messi is the best of all time in his field.” Asked about Messi’s appearance earlier this week, Mahomes said: “It would be great to have someone like that in the game. “I get a chance to show my personality and my skills. When he played in Kansas City, I got a chance to see him. It was last year, I think, or maybe a couple of years ago.”
As for who Messi supports, the fact that his kids wear Chiefs gear is probably answer enough.
