Specifically, Lionel Messi’s company Edificio Rostower Socimi officially IPO as a real estate investment fund (REIT) on the Portfolio Stock Exchange – a small, online-only exchange that will launch in 2023. The REIT share price was set at $59 (about 57.40 euros).
Lionel Messi’s investment portfolio is staggering, with 7 luxury hotels (in Spain and Andorra), 3 office buildings, 5 luxury apartments in Spain, and many other “luxury” properties in London and Paris. This real estate portfolio is valued at around 232 million USD (more than 5,548 billion VND).
The company’s board of directors is also a “dream team” with Lionel Messi as chairman of the board, his wife – Antonela Roccuzzo as vice chairman, and “big” associates such as Alfonso Nebot (Lionel Messi’s family financial manager) and Ramon Adell (member of the board of directors of Naturgy – a Spanish energy company).
The move comes just days after the Spanish Parliament rejected a proposal to raise taxes on REITs. Edificio Rostower Socimi CEO said the company plans to open up to new investors, but details remain a mystery.
Although born in Argentina, Messi has spent most of his career in Spain, playing for Barca. Then after two years playing for PSG (France), he moved to Inter Miami (USA) in 2023 and led Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup.
Unlike Cristiano Ronaldo – who is famous for his “noisy” style – Messi always chooses a discreet but effective way of doing business. At the age of 37, he not only owns an “unprecedented” collection of football titles, but also affirms his class in the field of real estate investment and business.
