Messi shined brightly before attending the 2024 Copa America when he contributed to the four goals that helped Argentina defeat Guatemala 4-1 in a friendly match held on the morning of June 15.

On the morning of June 15, Argentina played its last friendly match before the 2024 Copa América against Guatemala. Although the Central American representative was far behind, the surprise came in the 4th minute.

In the 39th minute, the score increased to 2-1 for Argentina. Messi cleverly passed the ball, creating an opportunity for Carboni to cross into the Guatemala penalty area. This player was fouled and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. From 11 meters, Lautaro scored to help Argentina advance.
