According to Randi Mahomes, her father Randy is “not well” and “in the hospital.” Prayers are requested for the granddad of NFL player Patrick Mahomes by his mother Randi.
On Sunday, September 29, Randi, 49, posted a picture taken inside her father Randy’s hospital room while 28-year-old Patrick and the Kansas City Chiefs were winning on the road at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Watching game with daddy today… prayers please for my dad,” Randi wrote in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Patrick’s younger half sister, Mia Randall, is seen in the photo watching the game in a chair beside her grandfather as the superstar quarterback helped keep Kansas City’s record perfect this season.
Randi, who is also mother to Jackson Mahomes, 23, first revealed that her father was facing health issues in a post on Sept. 13 on X. “Prayer warriors please pray for my daddy,” the mother of three wrote, adding, “He is in the hospital and is not well.”
Ahead of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February, Randi had an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in which she revealed more about her background before Patrick rose to fame in the NFL, including her extensive family tree.
Randi told PEOPLE that Debbie, her mother, was the youngest of eleven 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. Randi said, “So, I have first cousins who are in their 50s.”
The mother of three claimed that prior to becoming a mother to Patrick, she had felt aimless. “Patrick is my first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, and I grew up with him basically,” Randi said. “I had him at a young age, and I don’t go out saying that’s the best thing to do, but it was the best thing for me just because it made me grow up.”

“Sometimes, I look back and I’m like, ‘Where would I be if I didn’t have him?’ Because I wasn’t going down a bad road, I just wasn’t going on a road,” Randi added.
And although Patrick is 16 years older than his half sister, the Chiefs quarterback has developed a “special” relationship with Mia. “[Patrick] is always keeping tabs on what Mia’s doing, both him and Brittany [Mahomes]. It’s a fun relationship for them to have, and being that I was so nervous they wouldn’t know each other, I can say now that they know each other.”
