This information was shared by an Al Nassr official on February 10. This person said: “The two sides have reached an agreement to extend Ronaldo’s contract, just waiting for his official signature. The announcement will be made in the coming days.”
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023 with a two-and-a-half-year contract, expected to end at the end of the 2024/25 season. With his convincing scoring form in recent years, CR7 has made Al Nassr’s owners very satisfied. The Saudi Arabian team paid a generous salary (200 million euros/season) to convince Ronaldo to play.
With the one-year extension, Ronaldo will play for Al Nassr until the 2026 World Cup. The 23rd World Cup will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
Before coming to Al Nassr, Ronaldo won the Euro 2016 title, 5 Golden Balls, 4 European Golden Shoes, 5 Champions League, 3 Premier League, 2 La Liga and 2 Serie A.
On the night of February 7, CR7 scored in Al Nassr’s 3-0 victory over Al Feiha in the 19th round of the Saudi Pro League. This is the 5th consecutive match that the Portuguese superstar has scored for his home team. In total, Ronaldo has scored 24 goals in 26 appearances this season. The former Manchester United striker is 76 goals away from the 1,000-goal mark.
The 3-0 home win helped Al Nassr rise to third place in the standings with 41 points. Ronaldo and his teammates are still 8 points behind the leading team Al Hilal.
