Ahead of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final second leg, striker Cristiano Ronaldo received a Guinness World Record award.
Before the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final between Portugal and Denmark, striker Cristiano Ronaldo received great morale boost.
Specifically, the Portuguese superstar was recognized by Guinness World Records as the player with the most wins in his international career with 132 times, thereby being awarded the award right in front of thousands of fans present at his hometown Estadio Jose Alvalade.
The above achievement was established by CR7 when he and the Portuguese national team defeated the Polish national team in November last year, and officially surpassed his former teammate Sergio Ramos to become the player with the most victories in the national team jersey.
Notably, this is not the first time Ronaldo has set a Guinness World Record. The former Real Madrid and Man Utd player currently holds at least 16 titles, including the player with the most goals in UEFA Champions League history (140 goals), the most followed person on Instagram (651 million), and the most capped male player (218).
At the age of 40, Ronaldo is still aiming to break a series of impressive records, thereby affirming his position as one of the best players of all time. CR7’s immediate goal will most likely be to conquer the 2026 World Cup gold trophy, along with the milestone of 1,000 goals before considering retiring from football.
