Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Júnior, turns 15 this summer, an interesting age if Ronaldo’s eldest son is to pursue a professional football career. This is when young players begin to be assessed, and if they are good enough, they are called up to the youth teams.
Ronaldo Jr. is entering an important stage if he follows his father’s path.
Ronaldo Jr. has trained with the youth teams of Juventus, Manchester United and now Al Nassr, and wherever he has gone he has made a good impression on the level of his ability, not simply because he was accepted by his famous father. If Ronaldo Jr. aims to become a footballer, he could play for the youth teams of up to 5 different countries.
1) America
Ronaldo Jr. was born in San Diego, California, USA. Therefore, he is allowed to represent US teams.
2) Spain
Madrid is where Ronaldo Jr spent most of his childhood, only moving to Turin when he was 8. Children who have lived in Spain for at least three years before turning 10 are eligible for Spanish citizenship.
4) Portugal
FIFA rules state that because his father is Portuguese, Ronaldo Jr is eligible to represent Portugal despite rarely living in his father’s homeland.
5) England
According to the regulations, Ronaldo Jr. must live in England for 5 years to be eligible, but his father left MU before the required number of years. However, according to Marca, Ronaldo played in England for MU in two periods from 2003-2009 and 2021-2022. These two periods of residence, along with some legal procedures that can be resolved, will open the door for Ronaldo Junior to play for the “Three Lions” in the future.
Ronaldo Junior has potential, but is not as outstanding as many other young talents (or his father) at the same age.
This is just talking about which country Ronaldo Jr can play for at the youth level. The youth football scouting community considers Ronaldo Jr to be talented, but at his age, Ronaldo Jr is still not outstanding compared to his peers.
Outstanding U16 players are often promoted to higher youth teams or transferred to big clubs to test their abilities against older players, but that has not happened to Ronaldo’s eldest son. Meanwhile, his father was very famous since he was 12 years old, to the point that when Ronaldo left Nacional to move to Sporting, the fee Sporting paid successfully cleared the debt of the entire Nacional club.
