Ronaldo should join Messi, he will not only reach 1000 goals faster but also have more chances to win the cup.
Recently, there was information that Cristiano Ronaldo could go to Inter Miami to play with Messi to participate in the Club World Cup, or even Ronaldo could return to Real Madrid for a short time for that purpose. Although this information has been denied, Ronaldo could consider the opportunity to go to the US to join Messi.
For nearly 2 years, Ronaldo has been trying to score goals for Al Nassr to both compete for titles and reach the 1000-goal mark. But Messi, although not too focused on that goal, has been slowly scoring, assisting and winning trophies at both club and national team level, while what Ronaldo has won is only 1 Arab Champions Cup title, not even an important tournament.
In the last 100 matches, Ronaldo has scored 89 goals, 21 assists for Al Nassr & Portugal, including 21 goals from penalties. His scoring frequency at the age of 40 is still very impressive.
But Messi has scored 74 goals and 42 assists in his last 100 games for PSG, Inter Miami and Argentina, with only five of those coming from the penalty spot. In those 100 games, Messi has won the 2022 World Cup, the 2024 Copa America, the 2023/24 Ligue 1, the 2023 Leagues Cup and the unofficial 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield (for the team with the best record in all of MLS in the regular season, but MLS only counts the MLS Cup champion as an official title).
Maybe Ronaldo should go to America to play with Messi? Messi won’t fight him for penalties and Leo’s playmaking ability will allow Ronaldo to score freely against weak MLS defenses. Messi will probably let Ronaldo take free kicks if he wants, but over the past 100 games Messi has scored more free kicks than Ronaldo (6 to 4).
The Messi-Ronaldo combination will only help Inter Miami become stronger. Last season, they were eliminated from the playoffs by Atlanta United and there will come a time when Luis Suarez will not be able to continue playing due to knee degeneration. Ronaldo replacing Suarez will increase Miami’s chances of conquering American football, and help both legends add more titles to their collections.
