According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ronaldo is about to sign a contract extension with Al Nassr for another 2 years, after reaching an agreement on an annual salary of up to 228.1 million USD. This income level is something that even Messi cannot compare to.
According to the Football Tweet account on social network X, with Ronaldo’s new contract at the age of 40, no player in the world from the past to the present can achieve such a huge income figure, including Messi, the Portuguese player’s long-time rival.
“Ronaldo’s annual salary is up to 228.1 million USD, which means that this famous player earns more than 19 million USD per month, more than 4.3 million USD per week, about 626,000 USD per day, up to 26,000 USD per hour, more than 434 USD per minute and 7.25 USD per second. This is the income level of the GOAT (greatest of all time)”, Football Tweet expressed.
According to Sportico, a high-quality American digital content company that specializes in providing news, data, information, and strategies about world sports: “Ronaldo’s current income and the new contract he is about to sign with Al Nassr for another 2 years, will help the Portuguese star, despite being over 40 years old, continue to maintain the No. 1 position on the list of the world’s highest-paid football players in 2024 and 2025, as well as in the next 2 years including 2026 and 2027.” Ronaldo currently has an income from salary and commercial contracts of up to 260 million USD/year, Messi ranked 2nd with a total of only 135 million USD and Neymar ranked 3rd with 133 million USD, according to Sportico’s recent announcement.
While Mbappe ($110 million), Erling Haaland ($70 million), Mohamed Salah and Vinicius (both $55 million), are top stars playing for big clubs in Europe, they are still far behind Ronaldo.
Despite his huge income, Ronaldo has not been able to help Al Nassr regain the Saudi Pro League championship after their last victory in the 2018-2019 season. In the ongoing season, according to the Footy Rankings account on social network X, Al Nassr currently only has about 3% chance of winning the championship even though they just beat Damac Club with a score of 3-2 on April 23.
In this match, Ronaldo and his famous teammate Sadio Mane were both given a rest by coach Stefano Pioli. Al Nassr is currently ranked 3rd in the Saudi Pro League with 60 points, 8 and 2 points behind the two leading teams, Al Ittihad at the top and Al Hilal in second place, respectively, while the tournament has 5 rounds left.
Although hope is still there, Al Nassr Club is focusing on the goal of competing for the championship of the AFC Champions League Elite, when they will meet Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan) in the quarter-finals taking place at 2:30 a.m. on April 27.
The AFC Champions League Elite knockout round will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from April 25 to May 3, with each match having only one match to determine the winner, semi-final and final.
