Travis Kelce once gushed about the “special” surprises he enjoys planning for his significant others on their birthdays.
In a resurfaced clip of Kristin Cavallari’s “Let’s Be Honest” podcast from September, the Kansas City Chiefs player said he often feels “at ease” on first dates because he gets to “show [his] true and genuine self the most.”
During milestone moments, however, the athlete stresses out
“When I try to do something really special for somebody that’s when I get nervous,” he explained. “For, like, a birthday or Valentine’s Day, those days I’m nervous.
“She’s either gonna like this or I just got way too creative and this is lame,” the tight end, 34, noted.
Kelce was in a relationship with Swift at the time, but the couple wouldn’t go public until later that same month.
Amid recent reports that the NFL player planned a “romantic dinner” for Swift’s 34th birthday, the the “Catching Kelce” alum was absent from the Grammy winner’s New York City celebration.
Instead, the pop star rang in her new year at Outer Heaven with Blake Lively, Sabrina Carpenter and more of her A-list pals.
Swift channeled her “Midnights” album in a black Clio Peppiatt Lucina Embellished Stretch-Mesh Mini Dress ($2,335) with night sky details.
The “Love Story” singer completed the sparkly look with sky-high black heels, a silver purse and her signature red lip.
Kelce remained in Missouri for prior football commitments as Swift partied in Manhattan, with a source confirming to Page Six that he had mandatory practice to attend.
The couple did, however, share a special few days in Kansas City before she jetted off to the Big Apple.
