Wait, What? Bruce Vilanch Says People Think He’s Donna Kelce, mother’s Travis Kelce!

Bruce Vilanch hilariously revealed that fans — and even some of his friends — have mistaken him for Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce.

During an appearance on “The View” Monday, the comedian, 76, jokingly introduced himself to viewers who might not be familiar with his work.

“I would just like to say for you football fans out there, I am not Travis Kelce’s mother,” Vilanch said as the audience erupted in laughter.

“The resemblance is alarming, I will give you.”

The Kelces have become one of the most famous families ever since Travis started dating Taylor Swift in 2023.

As their visibility has grown, so has the confusion, Vilanch joked.

“People call me and say, ‘Dude, [are you] at the Super Bowl? What are you doing in a box with Taylor?’” he joked.

With their matching shoulder-length blond hair, bangs and go-to round, red glasses, Vilanch admitted that he can understand how people make the mix-up.

“And I looked and I thought, ‘Yeah, we are each other’s doppelgänger,’” he said, gesturing a phone to his ear. “So, Donna, [call me].”

The award-winning writer also played into the joke during an interview with The Telegraph, joining his Zoom call with the outlet under the name “Travis Kelce’s mother.”

“I want them to stay together because I want to ride this joke for a while,” he told the publication in an interview published Sunday.

Vilanch has been making the media rounds ahead of the release of his new memoir, “It Seemed Like a Bad Idea at the Time,” which comes out Tuesday.

The comedian recounts some of his most notorious flops in the book — including the Rob Lowe’s infamously bad opening number at the 1989 Oscar ceremony.

While the 61st Academy Awards wasn’t his best work, Vilanch has had plenty of time to redeem himself.

He has written for 25 Oscars ceremonies, working with hosts such as Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin and more.

Although Vilanch didn’t write for last night’s show, he thought it went “great.”

“I thought [Conan O’Brien] did a fabulous job,” he told the “View” panel, calling it an overall “classy and well-handled” production.
