Ronaldo announced the creation of an official YouTube account at the end of August 2024. The channel grew rapidly and broke a series of records on the platform. Many people expect the Portuguese football superstar to maintain his popularity and soon surpass “YouTube King” MrBeast.
However, the reality was not as calculated. After more than half a year of operation, the UR Cristiano account began to stagnate. The number of views and new subscribers decreased sharply compared to before.
According to SocialBlade , UR Cristiano’s channel currently has 74 million subscribers, ranking 3rd in the sports category globally. However, the platform only gave Ronaldo a B+ grade, due to his recent weakness.
In February, the account garnered 17 million views and 600,000 new subscribers. This was the lowest level since Ronaldo started YouTube last year. Notably, this was not a sudden event. The channel’s decline began in November 2024. Then the figures were revived thanks to a collaboration with YouTube superstar MrBeast. However, it continued to decline since the beginning of the year.

The content on the channel is also no longer distributed regularly. In the first two months of the year, Ronaldo only uploaded 4 videos. Among them are clips, past highlights, show trailers, behind-the-scenes videos. Only one long talk show is newly produced content. The number of views on the above videos is also very low compared to more than 70 million followers.
At this rate, it is unlikely that Ronaldo will surpass MrBeast. The YouTube king currently has more than 340 million subscribers. He gains 7-10 million more fans each month. The number of videos, investment level and other indicators are all better than Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar has been trying to move his more than 600 million followers from Instagram to YouTube, but the effort has yet to prove effective.
Despite the unfavorable statistics, CR7 is still the most popular person on all social networks, with over 1 billion followers.
On August 21, 2024, the football superstar debuted on YouTube with a series of carefully prepared videos. After a week, he continuously broke the platform’s subscriber records. Most recently, the UR Cristiano channel just reached 60 million subscribers, the fastest in history.
His existing popularity, combined with a huge number of subscribers across social networks, helps Ronaldo earn valuable advertising contracts. According to the “2024 Instagram Rich List” posted by Hopper HQ , Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list of the most famous and highest-earning people on Instagram. The Portuguese football superstar has more than 650 million followers and can earn a whopping $3.432 million for each post on the platform.
With 1 billion followers across all platforms, Ronaldo also leaves his competitors far behind in the list of social media celebrities. The person right behind him is singer Selena Gomez, who currently has more than 680 million fans.
